sugar diabetes and what it means to diabetics
sugar diabetes is term used today by many people to describe diabetes, a different variation of the term is sugar disease which is based on a popular myth about sugar and diabetes.
Eating too much sugar is not going to give you diabetes or so the myth goes, this is the regular sugar found in grocery stores.
I can see where the sugar diabetes myth originated from, most of the good myths are predicated on some truths. Diabetes is a disease where the body fails to synthesize Glucose which is a form of sugar correctly, now this sugar is produced from the body’s digestion process.
While glucose is made when the body breaks down carbohydrates which table sugar is, it does not mean that your body will produce more glucose than it would let say produce if you ate too much pasta.
The digestion process creates glucose from carbohydrates which is then burned as fuel to create energy.
The lack of Insulin to help in the breakdown process of glucose into energy creates a buildup of glucose in the blood thus the Sugar Diabetes reference.
